The 100th anniversary issue of Word magazine has an article written by Steve Somerset (The Shadow Kabinet) about his time spent working for Medialab in the 80s - the red hot video production company set up by Godley and Creme from 10cc. They produced some of the most iconic (and most expensive) videos of the time for artists such as INXS, Thompson Twins and Fine Young Cannibals, but crashed and burned after only a couple of years when the money ran out. This article is one of the few behind the scenes accounts of what actually went on. Steve was also recently interviewed on BBC Radio Derby and you can listen to the interview here:

The same issue of Word also has a free CD with a track by The Urban Voodoo Machine, where Nick Marsh plays guitar. At the same time another magazine Vive Le Rock has reviewed Nick's excellent solo album A Universe Between Us, giving it an 8/10 rating.

To celebrate all this press extravaganza, we are GIVING AWAY 10 copies of your choice of Word or Vive Le Rock incl. postage to anywhere in the World. All you have to do is reply to the e-mail version of this newsletter before midnight GMT on Wednesday 8th June 2011 with your name and address, indicate which magazine you would prefer and mention one new feature that you would like to see in GoMojo. FROM THE DEEP

New band From The Deep consisting of and Nick Marsh have been busy working on their first album. It's truly exciting stuff and you can expect plenty more news shortly. In the meantime you may be lucky enough to catch From The Deep live at Club , the Stoke Newington based performance club run by Katharine and Nick. The latest instalment on 2nd June also featured violinist , new Mediaeval Baebe solo and the incredible Cesarians. Add From The Deep and Club to your GoMojo favourites now to make sure you don't miss out on new gig dates. Have a look below at some photos of From The Deep's performance, which also included Matt Fisher (, ) on bass. Oh and by the way they couldn't find a drummer for the gig, so instead they fitted a tambourine to one of the tyres from their baby buggy and Nick operated this interesting contraption during the gig - check out the photo (Nick seems to have gone green)!
