SCARLET MIST ON GOMOJO - DON'T FEED THE TOUTS  
One of the very first features in GoMojo (which was then a desktop application) was a calendar/alert system for tickets going on sale. This was to help fans beat the ticket touts (scalpers) to the best tickets. Unfortunately ticket touting has since grown exponentially and has even gone corporate. First it was just the dodgy geezer hanging around venues, shouting "TICKETS - BUY OR SELL". Then individuals started to reach a wider audience on eBay. Then came the Web site equivalents of the dodgy geezer, many of which didn't actually have the tickets that they were selling at extortionate prices. Now there are legal sites out there selling socalled guaranteed second hand tickets and calling themselves "real fan to fan exchanges". Yeah right, so that's what real fans do? Buy tickets in bulk and then sell them to other fans for four times the face value?  
 
Scarlet Mist at www.scarletmist.com is a genuinely ethical ticket exchange for fans that genuinely have spare tickets for one reason or another and wish to sell to other fans. The rule is simple: you can charge no more than face value. Any touts, once identified, are kicked out. It actually works. Scarlet Mist and GoMojo have been friends since childhood (launched at approximately the same time and linked to each other early on). Now it has become a lot easier to discover tickets on Scarlet Mist for your favourite artists on GoMojo. Available tickets for all you favourite artists and family (side projects) are now shown on your HQ page when you log in. Tickets on Scarlet Mist for any artist can now also be searched on the Ticket Hunter page (UK only), but you must be logged in. Want to add to your favourite artists? Easy. Just search for them and click Add. If they don't exist in GoMojo, then follow the Share link on the left with Home selected on the top menu (you need to be logged in) and add the artist(s) and information for all other users to share.  
 
Scarlet Mist HQ page ticket search has been enabled for all accounts with users in the UK. This is because Scarlet Mist currently covers UK tickets only. However you can switch the feature on and off for any account by going to Settings and just (un)ticking a box.  
 
Please don't support the touts - individuals or corporate. If tickets are sold out, have a look at Scarlet Mist first.

BANNERS EVERYWHERE  
Behold the new banner tool on GoMojo. You can now create banners with different types of functionality: image only, image with click action (takes you to another page) or flyer (opens up a larger image or PDF for printing). Log in and follow the Profile link on the left menu. Then follow the Banners link at the top or bottom of the profile settings page and start creating banners. It's not a design tool, you need to create the graphics files and store them anywhere you like outside GoMojo. What the tool does is create the functionality, rollover text, etc. that you want. You can then choose to allow other users to add your banners to their accounts and you can choose to display a box with HTML (automatically generated for you), so anyone can stick the banner on any Web page. Banners are displayed on your profile page and visitors can browse through them. Other GoMojo users can add your banners to their accounts with a single click and anyone can grab the HTML to stick them on other sites, such as MySpace. They automatically get a link back to your profile, so even more people can find them. Before you know it, your banner could be going viral. This is a great way to spread the news about music that you are passionate about. Available now, so check it out. Standard accounts can hold a maximum of 5 banners at any time and VIP accounts can hold 30 (upgrade to VIP for only £9.99 for a year and support GoMojo: www.gomojo.net/shop.php). Please note that any offensive material will be removed.  


 
 
 
JUMP TO NEW EXCITING DESTINATIONS  
So far the links to your favourite bands, festivals and clubs on your HQ page have always taken you to their Info page - the one that mashes up information from GoMojo with stuff from the Web, incl. downloads, videos and photos. You can now save yourself a few clicks by changing the links to go directly to the News page (search music news, Twitter and feeds) or the Ticket Hunter page instead. Just select from the new Info, News and Ticket Hunter radio buttons above the links on you HQ page. You can even change the default in Settings.  


 
 
DOWNLOADS UPDATE  
Just wanted to remind you that Katharine Blake's album Midnight Flower and The Shadow Kabinet's Smiling Worlds Apart are now both available as high quality downloads (up to 425 kbps) from GoMojo Basement (www.gomojo.net/basement) - and at a very attractive price too! The debut album HARK! From The Shadow Kabinet (the predecessor to Smiling Worlds Apart) will also be available soon. HARK! is not available on CD and has never previously been available in this quality. Watch out for an announcement.
