26 Sep 2009 - A truck load of new stuff!

We've added a few new features... Oh and there's also a new album in the Basement!

GOMOJO SEARCH BAR
You can now add GoMojo search to your browser search bar in Firefox 2/3 and IE 7/8. Search for artists, clubs and festivals instantly without going through the GoMojo homepage! For more info visit http://www.gomojo.net/searchbar.php

GoMojo Search Bar in FF3

MORE DOWNLOAD LINKS
In addition to the Amazon MP3 widget, links to iTunes are now provided for *every* artist where we can find a match on iTunes, even ones that GoMojo does not have extended information about. Search for absolutely any artist you want and if there's a match, the iTunes button will appear. All artist searches now also have a link to eMusic. You can still get 25 downloads FREE from eMusic (no DRM, works with any player) by signing up here (no obligation to continue the service after your trial and you get to keep the MP3s):

MORE PROFILE VIDEOS FROM MORE SITES
You can now place up to 15 videos on your profile. Mix and match any videos you like from YouTube, imeem, Vimeo, MySpace and Dailymotion. No cluttering of your screen space, all videos appear in our special widget. Click on "Edit videos" on your HQ page. Note that Fabchannel videos are no longer supported, since sadly Fabchannel has closed down.

MORE PROFILE PHOTO OPTIONS
Why store copies of your photos on all the different social networking sites that you're using? Store them with the best services and then link them in, that's what we say. You can now in addition to Flickr include photos from PhotoBucket and Slide.com. In fact you can include photos from all of those sites at the same time if you want. Go to the new profile photos manager by clicking on "Edit photos" on your HQ page.

MORE VIDEO/PHOTO SEARCH
The Visuals Copilot (select an artist name and click Visuals from the Music menu) has been upgraded with more search options. In addition to Yahoo, YouTube, Google, MySpace and Flickr you can now also search MTV for music videos and MTV sessions. You can also search the new Bing (formerly Microsoft Live Search) for any video content (they have a pretty cool way of showing the search results)

WORLDWIDE GIGS AND VENUES
You can now add venues and gigs outside the UK and US through the normal Share pages. To search for worldwide gigs, tick the Worldwide box on the Gig Hunter page. On Info pages, click the Worldwide radio button under "Upcoming gigs". Festivals and clubs are still UK/US only, but we're working on it!

FREE GIGS
You can now add free gigs by selecting "Free entry" under the Ticket Information section on the Share pages. You can search for free gigs by ticking the "Free gigs only" box on the Gig Hunter page.

BLOGGING IMPROVED
We don't want GoMojo profiles to be full of banners and widgets advertising all sorts of nonsense, not to mention exposing users to security risks. Therefore links in blog posts on your profile have so far been heavily restricted. There is now an easy way of placing text links, links from images or just inserting images into your post. Simply go to the Profile section and edit an existing post or create a new one. The new tool for making links is just above the profile text field. You can of course still link artist names in your post to Info pages on GoMojo using the existing artist link tool. You also now have the option of saving a draft of the post you are working on. It will save your title, body text and links.

BLOGGING IMPROVED AGAIN
Now when you archive a blog post to start a new one, you can choose to include any combination of your favourites (your artist/club/festival roster), your pick of releases, your pick of gigs and your profile videos as they stand at the time when you choose to archive. So if your text refers to e.g. a specific set of videos or releases, just archive them along with the text and change your current selection for your next blog. In other words, focus your blog on the text and maintain the same selection of gigs, releases, artists, videos throughout or change them with every new post. It's now up to you.

PAST AND CURRENT PICK OF GIGS
Tabs have been introduced on your Pick of Gigs list, so you can now select either Past or Current.

IMPROVED LINK MAKER
The Link Maker tool for creating links to gig lists and embedded lists for your own sites has been vastly improved. As well as selecting gigs from you own or other users' gig lists, you can now also build a list on the Gig Hunter page. Simply select the gigs you like from the search results and click "Make link to selected gigs". When you're done with your list, click on "Go to Link Maker and get the code". You can now store up to 15 custom gig lists and get the link code at any time. These are managed directly on the Link Maker page, which can now also be reached by clicking on "Link Maker" from the main Profile page. Embedded gig lists now also include a link to your profile on GoMojo. Embedded links still use HTML only, no need for Flash.

LOGIN FIX
Some users have experienced suddenly being logged out in the middle of a session. The underlying problem has now been resolved. If you have experienced this problem, please log on again and let us know if you still have any problems.
