A short review of the Infest 2007 music festival Short review of Infest 2007, the cyber/industrial/electronic/goth music festival, held at the Bradford Universitys Student Union.
I hadn't heard of the opening band, The Gothsicles, before though they were surprisingly the best new band i saw there. Their show really kicked arse, their songs mainly seem to be about nintendo games but are funny and bouncy tunes and they have a great video backdrop to go with their songs.
Rupesh Cartel, were another band i had never heard of before and surprised me by being pretty good too. they are some kind of future pop, similar to Apoptygma Berzerk and VNV Nation. Their songs had quite nice melodys.
The headliners of the festival VNV Nation and Apoptygma Berzerk both performed excellent shows, mainly playing their greatest hits, and were great choices to headline.
After the bands finished theres a club in the venue afterwards till about 2, then a lot of people went on to partys in the halls of residence, where most of the festival goers were staying.
Another cool thing about the festival was the cyber/gothic market, where you can get cool new outfits, tshirts, jewellery, boots etc. The drinks at the bar in the venue were really cheap compared to London too which was refreshing.
Overall it was a great 3 day festival, would definitely go again, if they have another good line up next year! Subscribe to this profile:
